How to meet with OHSU Librarians online

Arranging a location to meet from

Rooms are equipped with technology for virtual appointments in the BICC Library and Graduate Learning Resource Center (LRC) in the Robertson Life Sciences Building. To schedule a virtual consultation using one of these locations, please indicate this in your appointment request.  Please be aware that the LRC is only accessible to OHSU members in academic programs and departments located at the RLSB.

Installing online meeting software

We typically use WebEx or Microsoft Teams for online appointments. Your confirmation email will include a calendar invite as an attached .ICS file that will include a link to join the meeting, and you may also be able to find the link in the body of the email.

Both types of meetings can be joined via a web browser, but using the desktop app will provide a better experience, especially if the librarian asks you to share your screen so they can coach you through a literature search of help you troubleshoot problems with citation management software. Please prepare for your appointment in advance by reviewing the confirmation email and installing the appropriate software as needed using one of the links below.

Best practices for booking appointments

It is recommended that all OHSU members book online appointments using their OHSU email address for the best meeting experience. Using a personal, non-ohsu.edu email will require you to join as a guest user, which may limit the features you have access to during your appointment, such as screen and file sharing.

Thank you and we look forward to meeting with you!
